As time went by it became hard for me to hear on the telephone, around people and at social functions. Dr. Manning performed hearing tests and found a hearing loss in both ears. I was fitted for hearing aids and once again enjoy visiting with my family and friends. I am so grateful to Dr. Manning for over twelve years of excellent care.
When I left your office yesteday after a hearing test and reprogramming my hearing aids some strange things happened. I punched the keyless door key for my car and heard a beep. I had never heard it before and did not know it did that. When I get home I locked the car with the remote and heard it beep again. I asked my wife if it did that all the time and she said, “You have never heard that”. I went into the house to wash my hands at the lavatory and never heard such a noise as the splashing water made. There was so much noise in the house I could not believe it.
I have had trouble understanding my wife but she seemed to be talking so loud and I could even hear the person she was talking to on phone too. When we turned on the news on the TV I kept telling her to turn the volume down because it was too loud. We watched a DVD and I could understand almost every word instead of having to read the subtitles. What an enormous change. The best hearing I have had in 10 years.
From the moment I walked in the door I know I was in the right place. Your entire staff was friendly and made me feel quite comfortable. Dr. Manning went out of his way to diagnose my hearing loss. He also went the extra mile to make sure I received the top quality aids that I needed to get the best hearing possible.
I would recommend anyone to use Audiology Associates first and not waste their time and money going anywhere else. You will be given all the options available to you and several price ranges. There is no pressure to take any choice. The entire staff is there for you help and assistance.

I have tried to purchase hearing instruments in the past, but I could not afford it. My doctor suggested that I talk to Dr. Manning at Audiology Associates. After testing my hearing and assessing my needs, Dr. Manning found a very affordable solution for me. He also found an amplified telephone for my wife and I that did not cost us a penny. Today marks the end of the fourth week since I have picked up my new hearing aids. All I can say is wow, what a four weeks it has been.
From the first day that I first tried on my aids, it has been GREAT. I was not prepared for the difference that these aids were to make in my life. I am still learning new sounds each and every day. Each day is a new adventure, hearing sounds that I have long forgot about. I really had no idea how bad my hearing had become.
In the line of work that I now am in, hearing is vital and these aids really do the job. I’m very pleased with these hearing aids and I am so thankful to you and your staff. I also thank god that people such as yourself are out there helping people like myself to better function in the real world.

Life is a series of good news-bad news experiences. One delightful good news experience is that we live longer than any generation in history. The bad news that parallels that good news is, some systems deteriorate faster than others. The first system that deteriorated in my life was my ability to see small print. I selected a professional to assist me, and that problem is now resolved.
The next system to deteriorate it was my ability to hear. Again, I select a professional to assist me and that problem is now resolved. Dr. Robert Manning has provided care to me for over 10 years. He continues to stay abreast of the latest technologies. I totally trust Dr. Manning to help me turn bad news into good news. I now hear it as well as I did at age 40.

My husband, Darrell Calhoun has been a patient of Dr. Robert Manning’s for over 30 years. Dr. Manning has helped him with his hearing and finding the right hearing aid for him. We have told many people about how good they are about helping people. I myself, Betty Vicki Calhoun just recently got mine and I love them. I would not have gone to any other hearing office. Dr. Robert Manning and his staff at Prestonsburg, KY and the staff in the Lexington, KY office are just like family to us. We love each and every one of them. They make you feel at home when you are in their waiting area. They take their time and explain everything to you in a way that you can understand. The receptionist in both offices are so understanding and try to help you with your appointments if you are not able to keep it. We have not met people who treat and care for you like they do. We hope that they grow and are very successful in opening more offices in the near future and are able to find a staff that really cares like they do. We are so thankful to have them in our lives.
Dr. Manning, the improvement in my hearing is so good it is hard to explain except to say “the hearing aids exceed by far any of my expectations.” They are terrific! I have no complaints. These are by far the best I could ever imagine. I overheard my wife telling my daughter on the phone “that I am a new person”. They have improved my mood. My daughter’s response to her mom was “you can’t put a price on that.” And I agree.
My new Audigy Hearing Instruments are wonderful. I am now able to understand what is being said. Volume was not as serious a problem as understanding words. Did not realize how serious this problem was until Jacob Manning, HIS tested and fitted me.

Dear Dr. Manning,
A note of thanks to you from J. and me from helping J. with his deafness. After my dealing with his deafness for a week, I was pretty much desperate when I suddenly appeared in your waiting room. I sincerely appreciated it when you started laughing. I’m positive my plea for help had become a laughing matter after having been told J. could not be seen in Danville for two weeks.
“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.” Bless you for taking your valuable time to help us. J. could not remember what the problem was. I remembered that you said, “dead batteries.” Also, his hearing aids need help. I shall be calling for an appt. with Dr. Dinsmore to see her hopefully the first of November.
Again, your kindness was so appreciated. Thank you for your time and understanding. Unfortunately, that is a train not found in doctors offices these days as it used to be. That is sad for the doctors as well as the patient.

It’s not that I love wearing hearing aids, but since I need to, coming to Audiology Associates is a pleasure. Everyone that I’ve dealt with seems to “know their business” and is eager to do their best to help me hear and care for my aids. There is never the push to “try this wonderful new thing.” So Audiology Associates is my place for hearing!
